Introduction

In Vince Live, we have introduced a new toggle called Save Backup of Output in the Excel component. This feature is designed to control the generation of Excel output files when workflows are executed from VXL Live.

Default Settings

• Existing Workflows: The toggle will be OFF by default.
• New Workflows: The toggle will be OFF by default, but users can enable it during workflow creation.

Enabling and Disabling the Toggle

• Existing Workflows: Users can enable the Save Backup of Output toggle. If previously enabled, users can also turn it off as needed.
• New Workflows: Users have the option to turn on the toggle while creating new workflows.

Purpose of the Toggle

When running workflows from VXL Live, the Excel step (if present in the workflow) should not generate an Excel sheet by default. The output of the workflow is loaded into Excel via the VXL Live add-in. To control this behavior, the Save Backup of Output toggle was implemented.

How It Works

1. Toggle Enabled:

   • If the workflow is executed from VXL Live and the toggle is enabled, users will see the output file in the Vince Live summary section.
   • If the workflow is executed from Vince live, the Excel output will be generated regardless of the toggle's status.

   

2. Toggle Disabled:

   • If the workflow is executed from VXL Live and the toggle is off, it will not generate the output Excel sheet.
   • If the workflow is executed from Vince Live, the Excel output will still be generated irrespective of the toggle being on or off.
