Vince Butler, VBU, is a Java Web Application that consists of a host application and several module applications that all run in a servlet container. The host and module can run on different servers and/or in different data centers or countries, but the host needs to be able to access the modules using HTTP.
The recommended setup is to run the host and the module in separate Tomcat servers. If the server has enough resources, they can run on the same Windows/Linux server, but preferably on different Tomcat servers. This also has a security advantage since outside module access then can be blocked in the firewall. Butler itself does not need internet access.
The user interface for Butler is web based and can be accessed using any browser or device.
Home is the default tab that opens when logged in. It can be configurated to be started with a default startpage pr. user
