Overview

The generic filter in Vince Live is a powerful feature that is strongly linked to Excel. It gives you the possibility to select conditions from Excel to decide if a record should be executed or not. This feature is particularly useful when you need to filter records based on specific criteria that are not available in the APIs.

Configuration Steps

A typical example of use is when you only want to execute the rows marked with "OK" in column "X," and all other records should not be read on the execution of the workflow. It is important to note that this filter is related to the complete workflow and cannot be set on specific APIs in the workflow.

To configure the generic filter in Vince Live, you first need to add the column of where the filter is located in Excel. Then, you can select the type of filter you want to apply, such as "Equal", "Not Equal", "Less Than", "Greater Than", "Less Than Equal", or "Greater Than Equal".

Filter Values

Once you have selected the filter type, you need to select the filter value. There are two different types of filter values available in Vince Live:

Data Types and Conditions

This filter function also requires that you select the data type, and you can choose between Number, String, and Boolean. If you select more than one filter, you must decide whether the second filter should have "AND" or "OR" as the condition.

Setting the Filter Value

Finally, you can set the filter value. If the previous selection of source is "From Client", the value added in the "Value" field will be seen as a default value and presented on execution.

By using the generic filter in Vince Live, you can ensure that only relevant records are processed in each step of the workflow, leading to improved accuracy and faster execution times. The filtering feature is flexible and easy to use, making it an essential tool for data processing and analysis in Vince Live.
