Introduction

While M3 is a capable ERP, it does not do everything. Oftentimes you need to connect to other systems to read and update data.

In Vince Live you can use the REST API component to connect to other systems, and within the REST API component, you can define which Connection to use.

Using a Connection with the REST API step will automatically:

• (re-)authenticate with OAuth2 and cache the token for up to 15 minutes
• provide pre-defined headers, such as x-some-system-api-key in requests
• provide scope, audience or other properties in auth requests

Basic configuration

Go to Connections and create a new Connection

Enter details about your connection, select Other as System

The Environment is not relevant for non-M3 connection, but try to use the same type of grouping for *development, test *****or production environments of the target API.
